Sound reduction technology |
Our Acoustic linings are the result of considerable
research into the problem of reducing the volume of
sound escaping from a marquee or part of a marquee.
There are many problems associated with this, not least
the fact that every marquee installation is different which
means that the sound behaves differently in each case.
To understand the technical details of the effect is not
easy but your own subjective experience will give a
good idea to just how effective these linings are.
In addition, by using a decibel meter, you can see that
acoustic linings can reduce the volume of sound
escaping from the marquee by approximately 15db -
20db. It is important to understand just what this actually
represents. The decibel scale is logarithmic which
means that a reduction of 10db represents a 50% fall
in sound level. A further 10db reduction represents a
further reduction by 50% which means that a 20db
decrease is actually a drop of 75% in sound level.
Careful siting of loud speakers, the number of people
in the marquee and other linings and furnishings will
result in a further attenuation of sound.
As a consequence we are unable to give firm figures
for the reduction in sound produced by the linings in
any given situation but you can feel confident that by
the use of acoustic linings you can significantly
reduce the nuisance caused by loud music both to
neighbours and other party goers who may wish for
a quieter party.
